Michael Mines

Michael Mines has practised criminal law exclusively since his call to the Bar of British Columbia in 1993. Born in Vancouver and raised in the West End and Kitsilano, he earned his Bachelor of Arts (Urban Studies, 1983) and his Bachelor of Laws (1992) from the University of British Columbia.

For more than three decades, Mr. Mines has defended clients facing the full range of criminal charges, from shoplifting to murder. Mr. Mines has the experience and composure you need when the stakes are high, and never allows media attention to soften his advocacy. He has secured successful outcomes in both the Provincial Court and the Supreme Court of British Columbia, including in multiple jury trials. His experience as a part-time Crown prosecutor gives him direct insight into how the Crown builds its case.
